DABOGRBOE is a self-defining-acronym-word for an important characteristic distinguishing those trying to be society's members from its predators.

DABOGRBOE = Decide
Against Big Obvious Golden Rule Breaking.

Decent people DABOGRBOE.

Civilized people DABOGRBOE.

Big decision-makers neglecting to at least DABOGRBOE seem to have been the common underlying cause of most of history's major social conflicts.

It's amazing that our language lacks commonly used words for something so essential and basic to getting along with each other.

Humanity can and must learn to do better (at self-civilization).

How hard is it to learn (or teach) new words?

(still a work in progress....like civilization itself)

Hypothesis

# 1

The Problem

There's only one really big problem to solve 1st :

Big Obvious Golden Rule Breaking.

In this context, the golden rule is best expressed as "don't do to others what you would not want done to yourself",
but it makes sense to focus only on the biggest, most obvious violators 1st .
Not many protest-worthy social conflicts were NOT caused by Big Obvious Golden Rule Breakers.

Hypothesis

# 2

Filling the verbal void

If we name it, we can more easily blame it, shame it, and ultimately tame it.

("it" being the Big Obvious Golden Rule Breaking noted in hypothesis #1)

Humanity's dominant languages seem to be missing words important to getting along with others - particularly words relating the golden rule's concept to the decision-making process.  That verbal void is quite amazing.

Words can help us discuss, think, and even perceive whether or not a person (or an AI?) has the decency to at least Decide Against Big Obvious Golden Rule Breaking.  How long can we survive without words like those in the glossary below now that we have self-extinction technologies?

Extra words may help even more!  So please get your ideas to catch on!

GLOSSARY:

(i.e. suggested verbal training wheels)

Note that these definitions are only about big and obvious decision-making issues - which makes them super lenient compared to the golden rule that goes "do unto others as you'd have them do unto you" or its converse "don't do to others what you would not want done to yourself".

Hypothesis

# 3

Improving society's
decision-making

Humanity could become significantly happier by focusing on empowering DABOGRBers and dis-empowering BOGRBers.

Evidence that someone's decision-making process does not DABOGRBOE should mean that they are definitely NOT an expert at big decision-making.
Shunning BOGRBers (and iBOGRBers) could help turn BOGRBing from an advantage to a disadvantage.

(Getting along with each other is all about the decision-making process.)

Hypothesis

# 4

Identifying
BOGRBers

You might be a BOGRBer if ...

...you're actively trying NOT to learn words like BOGRB or DABOGRB.

...you have no sense of decency.

...you think protecting the border is more important than protection from BOGRBers.

...decisions that harm or threaten others are OK with you if they create enough pleasure for some.  (Therefore, you don't try to find some other way to pursue your happiness)

Hypothesis

# 5

Identifying
DABOGRBers

You might be a DABOGRBer if ....

...you think the world would be a happier place if everyone was kind, decent, and civilized enough to at least DABOGRBOE.  (just for the BIG stuff!)

...you're embarrassed by how much BOGRBing is done by our species.

...You're definitely DABOGRBOE-ian if you hope DABOGRBing becomes an important part of the social contract someday.

Hypothesis

# 6

Identifying
iBOGRBers

You might be an iBOGRBer if ...

...you don't feel any guilt after someone you've done business with is found to have been BOGRBing.

...you hope things just go back to "the good old days".

...you just want lower taxes.

Saying DABOGRBOE may sound like casting a magic spell, but DABOGRBOE could actually do some self-civilization magic when enough people cast it together.

* For anyone confused by the term "Golden Rule", just think of DABOGRBOE as a demand for any makers of BIG decisions to decide NOT to do to others what they'd OBVIOUSLY protest if roles were FULLY reversed.
